Cultivating Missional Living
After his time in Uganda DJ said: “I feel like I had blinders removed. The experience challenged me and revealed blind spots in my theology and epistemology that had previously gone unchecked. The echoes of my time in Africa are still ringing in my head, challenging me to live differently, to develop relationships and think globally.”

Do justice. Love mercy. Walk humbly with our God. (Micah 6:8) This is our calling. This is our passion. This is our joy. We work towards a transformational gospel, a Christian order among the poor within East Africa.

For three, six, nine or twelve months, you will be living in a community with the nationals around East Africa. You will listen to people, as you interact and reflect on scripture together and collaborative, community action will emerge. You will journey with people and, little by little, you will see God at work – both in the community and in you. Our desire in Inhabit AFRICA is to see people come together as communities of followers of Christ in each place where we are present.

Inhabit AFRICA teams serve in the cities of Kampala, Uganda; Nairobi, Kenya; Kigali, Rwanda, and Bujumbura, Burundi. Plans include future teams in Southern Africa and West Africa.

About Inhabit AFRICA
Our journey into doing justice, loving mercy and working humbly with God unfolds in six natural phases, which we call missional positions. These are the positions that missional leaders need to learn, maybe even master, to engage culture well. So we focus our conversations, our experiences and work on these positions in our journey together:

Listen: Learning to listen to God, to our hearts, and to the culture around us.

Incarnate: Being the hands and feet of Jesus in the communities we live in.

Connect: Becoming fragrant followers of Jesus who gather people around a compelling story.

Discipleship: Fighting well for the lives and faith of those God has brought into our lives.

Create: Seeing and embracing what God has created for us and preparing to engage the next leg of our mission.

Entrust: Preparing those we have served to go on with God and encouraging them to pass on what they've received.

These are natural and essential phases you will experience as you set out to explore what it takes to be good news, to navigate life, and to be part of a community of faith.

Why Inhabit AFRICA?
“My time in Africa was helpful because all of a sudden Africa was more than
just a magazine article, TV documentary, radio piece...Africa had names -
John, Dennis, Andrew, Graeme, Judith, Grace, Jane, etc...real people, with real concerns, emotions, laughter.

I learned so much about myself and my culture by going deep with Africans. I just added a few dozens lifelong friends. Thank you.” Philip Lesniewski

"We have to live and do our work in a manner that provokes the questions for which the Gospel is the answer."
